TOMS RIVER -

Toms River police are searching for a man accused of stealing money from a church collection box.

Police say the burglary happened Sunday at the Christ Episcopal Church on Washington Avenue in Toms River. The man allegedly broke into the donation box and stole cash.

“Steal other people's stuff - You are a low life. Steal from a donation box at church- you are lower than low and our Facebook followers will help identify you,” a post on the Toms River Police Department Facebook page stated, along with a picture of the suspect.

The suspect appears to be a white man with a shaved head. He was seen wearing a white shirt and jeans at the time of the theft.

Anyone who may recognize the man or who has information about the theft is asked to contact Detective Patrick Jacques at 732-349-0150 ext. 1297 or by email pjacques@trpolice.org.
