Police: 3 people wounded in Newark street shooting

NEWARK (AP) - Authorities say three people were shot and wounded during an incident in New Jersey's largest city.

Newark police say the shooting occurred around 3:30 a.m. Saturday in the area of Fleming Avenue and Richards Street.

The three victims were taken to the hospital and were being treated for undisclosed injuries. All three were listed in stable condition, but their names and further information about them were not immediately disclosed.

Authorities say a motive for the shooting is not yet known. They declined further comment, citing the ongoing investigation.
