The Monmouth County prosecutor says he will be sending the case of a slain 11-year-old Keansburg girl to a grand jury.

The announcement was made Monday during a hearing for Andreas Erazo, 18, who is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Abbiegail Smith.

Erazo, Abbiegail’s upstairs neighbor, is accused of stabbing the 11-year-old in the neck and then wrapping her body in a blanket and disposing of it.

The prosecutor said he will send the case to a grand jury for a formal indictment come October.
