Two people were shot near the Thomas Edison rest stop off of the New Jersey Turnpike in Woodbridge, according to the New Jersey State Police.

Police say that the shooting happened Friday afternoon.

State police did not provide many details about the incident. News 12 New Jersey crews witnesses at least four people being questioned by police inside the rest area.

The rest area remained opened throughout the evening following the shooting.

The conditions of the two people hurt were not made immediately available.
