School district responds to pending lawsuit over student’s suicide

A school district at the center of a pending lawsuit from the family of a middle school student who died by suicide has released a statement.
Rockaway Township School District Superintendent Dr. Greg McGann posted the following statement Wednesday afternoon on the district’s website:
The parents of Mallory Grossman announced Tuesday that they were filing suit for what they called the district's negligence to stop the bullying of their 12-year-old daughter. The Grossmans said they repeatedly asked for help and nothing was done, nor was the bullying reported as required by the state.
The family’s attorney said they also plan to file suit against the parents of the students who were allegedly bullying Mallory.
