Man employed at Garda Security for one day accused of stealing

An Elizabeth man employed as a Garda security guard for one day was arrested for allegedly stealing thousands, according to police.
Fairfield police say that Larry Brooks, 19, stole $100,000 from the company.
Police were called to the company on July 26 after they discovered the theft the following evening. The theft was apparently caught on the company’s surveillance cameras, according to police.
Brooks, of Elizabeth, was identified as the suspect. He was arrested and charged.
Security officers were able to recover $85,900 from a vehicle that was parked in Elizabeth prior to calling police, according to a news release.
Brooks had apparently been hired by Garda a day before the theft.
