CARTERET -

The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office has released police dashcam video of the alleged beating of a 16-year-old at the hands of a Carteret police officer.

Dashcam video following the May 31 crash appears to show Officer Joseph Reiman punching the teen multiple times.

The teen’s father tells News 12 New Jersey that an ambulance was not called for the teen until after he was taken to the police station.

The prosecutor’s office says that the 16-year-old crashed at the corner of Bergen and Edwin streets in Carteret after allegedly driving away from a police car.

Reiman is now facing aggravated assault charges. He has been suspended from the force.
