Officials: Person fatally struck by NJ Transit train

A person was fatally struck by a New Jersey Transit train early Monday morning, NJ Transit officials confirmed.

The fatal incident happened between Chatham and Summit and caused service on the Morris and Essex lines to be suspended in both directions. NJ Transit officials said service was restored around 7:45 a.m.

There were no additional details immediately released about the victim.
