NJ locations among 350 Gymboree stores closing nationwide
Seven Gymboree stores and one Crazy 8 store are among the roughly 350 locations set to close nationwide, according to a release from the company published Tuesday.
“(This) announcement represents the next step in the company’s court-supervised financial restructuring as we work to more strongly position the business for long-term growth and success,” said Daniel Griesemer, president and CEO of Gymboree. “Right-sizing our store footprint is a central part of our efforts to ensure Gymboree emerges from this restructuring process as a stronger and more competitive organization, with greater financial flexibility to invest in our future.
The Gymboree stores closing in the Garden State are as follows:
  • Monmouth Mall in Eatontown
  • Menlo Park in Edison
  • The Shoppes at Riverside in Hackensack
  • The Shoppes at Hamilton in Hamilton (Mercer County)
  • Hamilton Mall in the Mays Landing section of Hamilton (Atlantic County)
  • Route 35 in Sea Girt
  • Morris Turnpike in the Short Hills section of Millburn
The Crazy 8 store at the Freehold Mall on Route 9 in Freehold will also close.
Closing sales at the affected stores will begin Tuesday, according to the company’s press release. No dates were given for when the stores will permanently shut down.
