MORRISTOWN -

Thousands of comic book fans flocked to the Mennan Sports Arena in Morristown this weekend for the fifth annual Garden State Comic Fest.

People dressed up as their favorite characters to meet some of the artists who helped create well-known comics.

Some comic book artists say it’s a great way to meet fans of their work.

"It's great to come out and see the reaction the people have to it and it thrills me," said Greg Hildebrand, a comic book artist.

Weekend crowds exceeded 4,000 for this year's event.
