NEWARK -

Newark is celebrating the grand reopening of the Park Avenue Firehouse today.

The 116-year-old fire house was temporarily closed last summer for much-needed repairs.

Water leakage issues were fixed, and electrical, heating and air conditioning systems were upgraded.  The kitchen and bathrooms were also remodeled.

The station houses an engine and ladder company, and will be manned by 40 firefighters.
