2 Camden County men charged with possession of child porn

Two Camden County men are facing charges in connection with the possession of child pornography following the execution of search warrants at the men’s homes, according to a release from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.
Craig Howell, 29, of Lindenwold and Barnaby Hewsen, 42, of Pennsauken, were both arrested last week in their respective townships.
Howell was charged after detectives from the High Tech Crimes Unit of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office went to his home last Thursday evening. Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo said detectives seized numerous digital media devices from inside the home and found images of child pornography during an onsite preview of Howell’s computer.
Multiple devices were seized from Howell’s home and were taken back to Camden County Prosecutor’s Office HTCU for analysis.
He was charged with third-degree possession of child pornography, processed and released on a summons, the prosecutor said.
The following day, detectives from the HTCU executed a search warrant at a home in Pennsauken.
Hewsen was arrested and charged with third-degree possession of child pornography when detectives conducted an onsite preview of his electronic devices, Colalillo said.
His remaining items were seized from the home and taken back to Camden County Prosecutor’s Office HTCU for analysis.
Hewsen was sent to Camden County Correctional Facility on a warrant pending the pretrial detention hearing in accordance with the New Jersey Bail Reform. Under the recent Criminal Justice Reform rules, the court may order Hewsen to be detained without bail or released with conditions. His pretrial detention hearing is scheduled for Thursday before Superior Court Judge Gwendolyn Blue.
Colalillo said complete analyses of the devices belonging to both Howell and Hewsen will determine final charges.
