Man riding scooter struck, killed by alleged drunken driver

MONTVILLE -

State police say a man riding a scooter was struck and killed by an alleged drunken driver in Montville Friday night.

Police say Michelle Perez, of Clifton, struck Ismail Iqbal, of Somerset, with her Nissan Rogue on Route 80.

Iqbal was thrown from him Suzuki scooter. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Perez has been charged with driving while intoxicated and vehicular homicide.
