A Maywood man is pleading for his beloved pet’s return after she was stolen from his home last week.
Matthew Zottarelli says that his pit bull Luna was taken from his home while he was at work last Friday.
“I feels like something missing. Like my life doesn’t feel complete right now,” he says.
Zottarelli says he returned from work and saw that Luna was missing from her cage. Both windows in the bedroom and guest bedroom were open. He says the dog was the only thing that the thieves stole.
Zottarelli says he always leaves the windows to his home locked.
“I always try to check that they’re locked, so I don’t know how they really did it. Maybe it really was just unlocked,” he says.
Luna’s brother Jack isn’t taking his sister’s disappearance well.
“He didn’t eat or go to the bathroom or drink any water for days,” Zottarelli says.
Zottarelli says that Luna suffers from separation anxiety, so he is extra worried about her. He says he suspects that Luna was targeted by thieves to be used for breeding or dog fighting. He says that he wants his pet back, no questions asked.
“Just return the dog.  Everything will be OK... I just want my dog back,” he says.
A $2,000 reward is being offered for Luna’s safe return or any information that could lead to finding those who took her.
