Forecast: Temps cool overnight; scattered showers Friday

EDISON -

New Jersey saw mostly cloudy skies and cooler temperatures Thursday; a change from Wednesday’s sunny, record-breaking warm weather.

News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Dave Curren says that the rain is expected to continue over the next few days and that roads may become slick with ice as temperatures cool.

Thursday’s overnight hours should see mostly cloudy skies with temperatures dipping into the mid-30s.

Friday should see clouds and scattered rain showers. Temperatures should reach the low- to mid-40s around the state.

Saturday is expected to see slightly warmer weather in the mid-50s. The skies should be mostly cloudy with some periods of light rain.

Sunday is also expected to see scattered rain showers. High temperatures should be around 54 degrees.

Sunshine should return by the beginning of the week.
