Strong, severe thunderstorms expected Tuesday afternoon

A flood watch has been issued for most of northern and central New Jersey as strong and severe thunderstorms are expected to impact parts of the state.

News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist James Gregorio says temperatures Tuesday will be in the mid-80s. Gregorio says the early sun will turn into nasty storms during the afternoon hours. The threat of strong to severe thunderstorms exists between 2 and 7 p.m., with the heat and humidity breaking by Wednesday.

Temperatures overnight will drop into the mid-60s, with skies clearing up.

Wednesday is expected to see temperatures in the high-80s, with mostly sunny skies.

Thursday should see mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will be in the low-80s.
