Holiday Weekend Forecast: Sun, rain and thunderstorms expected

New Jersey is expected to see a wide variety of weather conditions for this Memorial Day weekend.

News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Justin Godynick says that Sunday is expected to be the worse day of the weekend, weather-wise, with mostly clouds and rain expected.

Saturday is expected to be mostly sunny with temperatures in the upper-80s. Meteorologist Justin Godynick says that Saturday is expected to be the best day of the weekend. Clouds and the chance of a thunderstorm are possible for Saturday night going into Sunday.

Sunday should see mostly cloudy skies with another thunderstorm possible. Steadier rain is possible in the later part of the day. High temperatures should only reach the low-70s.

Monday is expected to start off cloudy with highs around 74 degrees. The sun is expected to come back later in the day.

The weather should improve by Tuesday, with mostly sunny skies and highs around 87.
