Forecast: Mid-40s overnight; periods of heavy rain Tuesday

New Jersey saw mostly cloudy skies Monday with temperatures in the mid- to upper-50s.

News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Dave Curren says that temperatures should remain above-average through Tuesday.

Monday’s overnight hours should see periods of light rain and foggy conditions. Temperatures are expected to cool slightly into the mid-40s.

Tuesday should see mostly cloudy skies with periods of heavy rain. Temperatures should reach the upper-50s across the state. The rain should clear by the end of the day with temperatures cooling into the mid-30s.

Wednesday should see mostly sunny skies, but temperatures are expected to cool into the upper-40s.

Thursday should see sunny skies with high temperatures in the low-30s.
