LAKEWOOD -

A vote to lay off more than 130 teachers in Lakewood was postponed Monday night.

The school district is looking to bridge a $15 million budget gap. The school employees were told last week that they could lose their jobs if the budget isn’t rectified.

In addition to mass layoffs, the district could also cut all extracurricular activities, including athletics.

Officials did not immediately say for when the vote would be rescheduled.
