New Brunswick police are warning residents to be vigilant after a bear was seen Saturday morning.

The animal was spotted near Carpender Road. It was seen running toward the woods in the area of the Rutgers Boat Docks. 

Officials say if residents see a bear in their neighborhood and there is no immediate danger, they should call their local police station's non-emergency number.
