(AP) - Police were investigating a report of a shooting early Sunday at the College of New Jersey, but were unable to confirm one had taken place.
Police received a 911 call shortly after 6 a.m. reporting a shooting at Travers Hall, and e-mails were sent to students asking them to remain in their locations while the investigation continued.
Later, students were told they could move about the campus, although security checkpoints had been set up.
"Other than the 911 call, we have no evidence that I know of that a shooting actually occurred," said Matthew Golden, the school's director of communications.
The 3,600-student campus is located in Ewing Township, roughly 6miles from Trenton.
