Teen arrested for TCNJ shooting hoax

(10/08/07) EWING ? Police have arrested a 19-year-old man who allegedly called in a fake shooting report at The College of New Jersey, sparking a campus-wide lockdown.
Police say the call came in around 6:30 a.m. Sunday. The caller stated there had been a shooting at Travers Hall, a dorm on campus. The report sent strict security measures in motion, including a campus-wide search, emergency text messages and Web site updates. The 3,600 students who live on campus were also locked down.
Campus police say their investigation eventually led them to 19-year-old Michael Larkin. They would not say how they connected Larkin to the hoax. He is being held in the Mercer County Jail on $25,000 bail and faces charges of making a false public alarm.
