Corzine details prevention element of anti-crime strategy
(AP) - Governor Corzine comes to Newark to announce the second part of his three-tiered anti-crime initiative.
Corzine was a familiar presence in the city in August after the shocking killings of three college students.
And he returned there today to focus on the second part of his three-tiered anti-crime initiative, aimed at preventing similar violence from occurring.
The wide-ranging prevention aspect of his program focuses on early intervention as a tool to help youths resist the lure of gangs.
Corzine unveiled the enforcement portion of his program yesterday in Trenton. And he'll discuss details of a re-entry program for ex-offenders tomorrow in Camden.
