A funeral was held Saturday for an East Orange mom and her two small children who were killed in a house fire earlier this month.
Police say Angela Mickens-Sanford, 28, was asleep with her three children in the house when investigators say overheating wires sparked flames. Sanford and two of the children, ages 2 and 5, died in the days after the fire. The third, a 3-year-old girl, remains in critical condition with burns to 90 percent of her body.
At the vigil, firefighters who battled the blaze praised Sanford?s courage for getting the children out of the house alive, though badly burned.
Ernesto Sanford says he still feels numb after losing his wife and two children.
The City of East Orange has set up a fund to help the family.
