Newark Liberty International Airport may soon be seeing an increase in passengers and delays. The increase would be due to a reduction in hourly flights at JFK Airport in New York. Officials say JFK Airport had the worst on-time departure record of any major airport in the United States in August.Government regulators are looking to cut the amount of flights at the airport by 20 percent, which could force passengers to look elsewhere for flights. The government is hoping to get airlines to voluntarily change their schedules for summer 2008.Tuesday was the start of a 2-day meeting focused on the scheduling issues at the airport.
