Police: Sun glare caused fatal crash in Millburn

Detectives believe sun glare may have played a role in a fatal accident Wednesday in Millburn.

Investigators say a 72-year-old woman driving an Oldsmobile Intrigue struck and killed a construction worker on South Orange Avenue. Police believe the woman didn?t see the construction workers? truck or the worker replacing manhole covers due to poor visibility.

The construction worker, employed by J. Fletcher Creamer Construction Corporation, was a 54-year-old man from Kearny. He was pronounced dead at St. Barnabas Medical Center. A second injured worker and the woman driver were also taken to St. Barnabas.

Detectives are still investigating the crash.
