More than a dozen homeless after Montclair fire

The Red Cross is helping more than a dozen people Thursday after a fire ripped through their Montclair home.

Firefighters from Montclair and Bloomfield arrived on the scene quickly to evacuate 14 people safely from the home on Walnut Street. Fierce flames and thick smoke consumed the three-story duplex shortly after the evacuations.

One firefighter was injured when he fell 10 feet down a flight of indoor stairs. The fire chief says the man?s injuries are not considered serious.

Fire investigators are still determining what caused the blaze.
