Developers eye Nov. '08 finish to Center City shops

Architects working on Center City in Paterson say shoppers could possibly hit the project?s retail stores by next November.
The project has been under construction for just over a year. Center City is being built at the intersection of Main, Clark Ward and Smith streets. The mega-mall will include a movie theater, children?s entertainment facility and dozens of stores and restaurants. There will also be an underground parking garage with 650 spaces.
Center City?s focal point will be a glass dome that will allow patrons to see the historic architecture of Paterson?s downtown.
Architects say the retail phase of Center City should be ready for shoppers by November 2008 or early 2009. The next phase will include office space, approximately 200 market-rate housing units and additional parking.
Developers have also purchased several buildings around the construction site to continue their commitment to renovate Paterson?s downtown area.
