Hunting accident hospitalizes 2 in Clinton
Two pheasant hunters accidentally shot each other in Clinton Thursday.
Investigators say the men were hunting in the Clinton Wildlife Management Refuge in Hunterdon County early Thanksgiving morning. One of the hunters shot the other in the neck, who then returned fire, investigators say.
Fellow hunter Ernell Flagg waited a bit before starting his day. He said it was "pretty foggy, so this morning, when the birds got up we couldn't see much because of the fog."
The State Fish and Wildlife Service, which is investigating the incident, did not say if fog played a role.
The injuries are not considered to be life-threatening, the service said.
