Industrial accident at Linden company claims 2 lives

An industrial accident at a Linden dry cleaning company killed two workers Saturday.
The accident happened at the North East Linen Company building on East Linden Boulevard. Police say two men employed at the company were cleaning out a large tank when they became overcome by fumes.
The workers were found by their supervisor around 2 p.m. Police say firefighters had to go into the tank wearing special breathing apparatuses to retrieve the bodies.
The Union County Sheriff's Office and Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating the incident to make sure all necessary safety protocol was followed. They say it appears to be an accident.
The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
