New Jersey shoppers brave snowy conditions
Despite Sunday?s storm, which left areas of the state under inches of snow, many New Jersey residents headed outside to shop for the holidays.
Residents found the storm amounted to only a dusting of snow, but roads proved to be a challenge for drivers early on. Many accidents were reported before the salt trucks and plows had a chance to smooth things over.
In Old Bridge, a car crashed into a traffic light destroying it. Two lanes were closed as was the intersection where the accident occurred.
Many shoppers said it was a close call deciding whether to head out to the stores. They said if it had snowed a couple more inches, they would have stayed in.
A winter weather advisory remained for much of the state Sunday night and the day's snowfall became rainfall.
