Toms River teen believed to have run away with ex-con

A teen from Toms River believed to have run away with an ex-con more than twice her age has been missing for a week.
Maria Schiele says she and police warned her daughter, Jessica, that James Allen Poe was no good. Schiele says Jessica, 17, met Poe, a 38-year-old ex-con, on the boardwalk in Seaside Heights. Schiele says after the two met, police showed Jessica Poe's rap sheet, which included two burglaries.
Police say, in the end, Jessica chose to run away with Poe.
According to police, no crime has been committed because the age of consent in New Jersey is 16. However, authorities say if the couple is found and it is determined Poe made the teen do something illegal or bought her drugs or liquor, he could be charged.
Authorities say Poe has worked as a day laborer and parking attendant. He has different aliases, including Noel Poe and Noel Vasquez.
