Six troopers suspended after sex assault allegations

Six New Jersey state troopers have been suspended in connection with an alleged sexual assault case, Mercer County Prosecutor Joseph Bocchini said Tuesday.
Bocchini confirms his office is investigating the accusations of a Rider college student who says she was assaulted the morning of Dec. 7.
The prosecutor?s office said the alleged sexual assault took place at an Ewing Township residence. The victim, 25, says she was assaulted by multiple men, including one or more members of the New Jersey State Police Department.
Law enforcement sources say the woman met her alleged attackers at a nightclub in Trenton. After the alleged incident, Ewing Township police were called. Sources also say the officer or officers were not on duty at the time.
The troopers are suspended with pay, as is procedure while the investigation continues. No one has been arrested and no charges have been filed.
