Police are searching for a suspect who attempted to rob a Teaneck shoe store at gunpoint Monday.
Surveillance video shows the suspect entering the store's stockroom through an unlocked back door. Police say he pulled out what looks like a rifle and confronted an employee.
Commotion caused by other employees and customers leaving the store caused the suspect to flee without grabbing any cash or valuables, according to police.
Authorities say the robbery attempt was a bold move since the Teaneck Police Department is located about a block away. "He walked in there pretty confident," says Lieutenant Dean Kazinci. "He walked in their carrying a long-arm rifle. He did this at 2:22 in the afternoon."
There is a $1,000 reward being offered for information leading to the suspect's arrest and conviction.
