Nintendo Wii systems flying off NJ shelves

Many holiday shoppers are coming up short in their attempts to purchase one of the season's hottest gifts - the Nintendo Wii.

Even larger chain stores are having problems keeping the popular gaming system on the shelves. Best Buy's Lance Campbell says his branch got a shipment of 90 consoles over the weekend.

"We had a ton in on Sunday, and the line was outside the doorway before the store opened. We had approximately 120 people on line for those Wiis ? its unfortunate," says Campbell.

Web sites such as Wiitracker.com and Refresthing.com are helping some customers track down the systems. Those sites are offering real-time information about which stores have Nintendo Wii systems in stock.

Holiday shoppers looking for other online options can check eBay if they're willing to shell out more money. News 12 New Jersey found the console listed at $1,200 on the auction site. The Wii typically sells for around $250 for the basic package.
