(AP) - A pickup truck traveling in the wrongdirection on Interstate 95 collided with a minivan Friday night,killing four people and injuring four others, New Jersey StatePolice said.
The accident occurred just before 8 p.m., said Sgt. StephenJones, a state police spokesman.
Authorities initially received a call that a vehicle wastraveling southbound in the northbound lanes, Jones said, then gotanother call soon after reporting that the accident had occurred.
The driver of the pickup truck, who was alone in the vehicle,was killed in the crash. The driver of the minivan and twopassengers - including one who was ejected from a rear seat of thevehicle - also died. Four other passengers in the minivan wereinjured, police said.
All northbound lanes and one southbound lane were shut down inthe area of the crash, near the Scudder Falls Bridge, which linksNew Jersey and Pennsylvania, but were reopened just before 11:30p.m., Jones said.
Further details, including the names of those killed, were notimmediately available. The injured were being treated at areahospitals.
