Ramapo river communities on flood warning

Flood warnings are in effect for parts of Bergen, Morris and Passaic Counties Sunday night.
Communities along the Ramapo River are being advised to keep their guards up throughout the evening. The Pompton Lakes area is being specifically mentioned as a location at risk.
A forecast of wintry weather and precipitation has flood experts on alert. Lew Levy of the Oakland Flood Commission says the current conditions make it likely for rain to find its way into the river.
Officials say there have not been any signs of flooding yet. The warning is expected to last at least through the morning of Jan. 1.
