New Jersey residents did all they could to bundle up against the cold Thursday.
Temperatures dropped into the teens overnight into Thursday. With the wind chill factor, temperatures dipped below zero throughout the day.
Work crews continued construction at sites despite the weather. Other independent merchants who work outside also braved the cold to make a couple of bucks.
"I'm not saying I'm not cold, but I'm a seasoned veteran of this business," says Allan Smith. Smith was selling winter hats and assorted accessories to combat the weather.
Experts say everyone who has to be outdoors should wear layers. Meteorologists say the temperatures are expected to warm up by the weekend.
