The 911 call was released Friday in the case of the slain Piscataway police officer.
Police say Officer Jerry Mahoney was fatally shot by his 19-year-old son John in December.
In the 911 call, Mahoney?s son tells the dispatcher that someone broke into their home and shot both him and his father. John Mahoney describes the suspect as a white male wearing a hat and gloves.
However, police later arrested and charged John Mahoney in his father?s death. Authorities believe there was no one in the Gibson Street home at the time of the shooting. They say John Mahoney shot himself in the arm to make it look like a break-in.
John Mahoney pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in December.
