Suspected radio thief caught on video in Clifton

A Passaic County man is facing charges Tuesday for allegedly breaking into a car and stealing a satellite radio.
The section of Clifton where the break-in occurred is actually a crime watch zone. Police say the whole incident was caught on surveillance video.
The video apparently shows the suspect, Kenneth Gayda, casing a car parked near Norman and Fenner avenues. Police say Gayda later breaks the car window with a barbell, grabs the radio and takes off.
?We didn?t get a good look at his face from the surveillance tape, however, we were able to get a good description of the clothing he was wearing,? Det. Capt. Robert Rowan, of the Clifton Police Department, says.
According to Rowan, the clothing description helped a patrol officer spot Gayda three days later. Police say Gayda eventually admitted to detectives that he stole the radio.
Police advise drivers with satellite radios or GPS systems to take the items out of their cars when they aren?t using them. They also recommend removing any brackets or suction cups from the car.
