Charges for the woman accused of shooting a Dover man to death have been upgraded to murder.
Prosecutors say Jade Ransom, 20, shot 23-year-old Jesus Dimas Rodriguez Marques to death in the front of his East Blackwell Street store. Ransom initially told police that Marques had pulled a gun on her and the shots were fired in the midst of a struggle. According to court affidavits, however, there were no physical signs of a struggle.
Police are asking for the public's help in figuring out how Marques and Ransom knew each other. Authorities want to assure the undocumented immigrant population that it is okay to come forward with any information they might have about the shooting.
