6 left homeless as flames engulf Long Branch home

Fire tore through and destroyed a Long Branch house Saturday morning, leaving 6 people homeless.

The two-alarm blaze began in a second-floor apartment before spreading to the home's attic and roof. The flames damaged the structure enough that the roof partially collapsed.

"It's like somebody just ripped my heart out," says Miguel Maldonado, one of the residents displaced by the fire.

There were no serious injuries. An investigation is being launched to determine the source of the fire.
