NJ prepares for possible flooding and heavy rains

Families in flood-prone areas of the Garden State are hoping this weekend?s wet weather doesn?t cause the same type of flooding they?ve seen time and again.

Members of the Shaker family, of Bound Brook, say they are staying in a hotel rather than waiting out the heavy rains. Peter Shaker says downpours last April flooded his basement and destroyed precious memories. He admits he and his family didn?t prepare for that storm.

This time the Shakers moved their belongings to the second floor of their home.

Parts of New Jersey could see as much as 6 inches of rain overnight into Saturday. River flooding is possible late Saturday.
