Call girl at center of Spitzer scandal grew up in NJ

The call girl at the center of New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer?s prostitution scandal grew up in New Jersey, according to reports from the New York Times.

The young woman identified in the federal complaint against the Emperor?s Club as ?Kristen? is 22-year-old Ashley Alexandra Dupre. She?s an aspiring musician who lives in Manhattan, according to her MySpace page.

Dupre?s brother Kyle Youmans spoke to News 12 New Jersey and says the family is sticking by her through the ordeal. He says he has faith his sister will survive it.

Dupre told a newspaper she has slept very little since Spitzer?s link to the prostitution ring was revealed. She says she is considering moving back in with her family in Jackson.

Spitzer announced his resignation Wednesday after he was linked to the prostitution ring. Lt. Gov. David Paterson will take over for Spitzer Monday, March 17.
