Bayonne stands to lose 600 parking spots

Bayonne residents that complain about the lack of parking have received some bad news. The city has learned that it may lose 600 additional parking spots. The state's Department of Transportation told Bayonne it was not following certain guidelines and that if changes were not made, the parking spaces would be taken away.

One of the problems cited is the amount of vehicles that line the streets, a situation that the DOT says won't allow emergency vehicles to get through. Residents told News 12 New Jersey that losing 600 parking spots would be a nightmare. Some residents said they are afraid to go out at night because they will likely not be able to find a space when they return. One resident said he gave his car away because of the parking situation.
