Passaic siblings die in early morning fire

Two teenage siblings were killed Saturday in an early morning fire that gutted their home.

Jennifer Francis, 18, and her 16-year-old brother Mina died after a fire broke out in their two-story house around 2 a.m. No other injuries were reported.

Firefighters say they tried to run upstairs to where the teenagers were sleeping, but couldn?t get past the intense heat.

The bodies of the two were found once firefighters were able to get to the second story. After learning of their deaths, the children?s mother collapsed and needed to be taken to the hospital for treatment.
