Motorists fuel up in anticipation of gas price spike

Cars lined up bumper to bumper Thursday at Garden State Parkway and New Jersey Turnpike filling stations in preparation for a double-digit gas cost spike.
Gas prices at services areas in the Garden State will rise by 22 cents per gallon. Some motorists say the fuel costs are getting out of control.
"Maybe we should all ride bicycles or something," said Joe Tarantino, one of the drivers on line in the waning hours of cheaper gas.
The change will put the service area prices at about $3.39 per gallon, on par with the state average.
