Tenafly community in shock over triple murder
The community of Tenafly is reeling after the grisly discovery of three people stabbed to death in a home there.
The decomposing bodies were found Friday inside 169 Tenafly Rd., each with multiple stab wounds. According to authorities, the victims may have been dead as long as six days.
Police packed up their crime lab and left the scene Saturday, but neighbors say they were left with many unanswered questions about the crime. Residents say they're able to rest a little easier knowing the murders were likely not a random crime.
The victims were an elderly woman, elderly man and a younger man in his 20s. Little else is known about the victims at this time. The faces of the victims have decomposed past recognition and dental records will have to be used to identify them, police say.
No murder weapons have been found, and no suspects have been named.
