Bergenfield officer shot in the Bahamas returns home

The Bergenfield police officer shot on vacation in the Bahamas returned to New Jersey Monday night.

Two people have been arrested in connection with Officer John Casper?s shooting. Officials say Officer John Casper was on the island with his girlfriend and others when two men approached the group and tried to rob them. Police say Officer Casper was shot as he was trying to stop the robbery attempt. According to officials, the suspects are scheduled to be arraigned some time this week.

Casper was flown back to New Jersey aboard a specially equipped medical jet. He is being cared for a Hackensack University Medical Center.
