Experts: Drivers should use correct fuel for vehicle

Despite rising gas prices, experts are urging New Jersey drivers to purchase the correct fuel for their vehicles.

For those with vehicles that require the high octane, more expensive premium gasoline, experts say it can be tempting to fill up with regular. Premium gasoline is about 20 cents more than regular in the Garden State.

Mechanic Lou Taddivo says people should use the type of gas recommended for their vehicles, even if it means shelling out a little more cash. He says while the mileage may not be much different, it is the engine damage drivers need to worry about.

?When you consider what a damaged engine would cost, you know, better to pay a few cents more at the pump,? Taddivo says.
